Is your life in balance?Before answering the following questions, recognize that
balance in a unique place for each of us. What might feel
balanced for one person is not necessarily what feels balanced
for you. Take a look at this life wheel and become familiar with
each of the areas.
Read through the following questions and note the ones that
you are doing regularly.
- I have a regular exercise routine that I feel great about.
- I take some time every day for quiet contemplation.
- I eat foods that nourish my body and my soul.
- I eat five vegetables and fruits a day.
- I have meaningful work in my life. (This can be taking
great care of your family)- I wake up feeling energized and enthusiastic about my
day.- I get seven to eight hours of sleep per night
- I have a creative interest that I pursue.
- I am aware when my stress level gets above a three (on
a scale of 1-10) and I do something to take care of myself.- I know what my options are to decrease my stress.
- I take time to connect with myself on a regular basis.
- I find it easy to name five positive qualities about myself.
- I have fulfilling relationships with family and friends.
- I feel confident in getting my needs met.
- I communicate my feelings and needs without blame
and judgment.- I look for new opportunities to grow and learn.
- I am willing to say no.
- I take time to play.
- I see a healthcare practitioner regularly and my health is
a priority in my life.- I am honest with myself and others.
- I give easily and without any expectations of getting
something in return.- I can give and receive appreciation with grace.
All these statements reflect ways in which we can take great care of ourselves.
